Plans for the CBS soulmates

CBS has announced new seasons for their game show workhorses, The Price is Right and Let's Make a Deal.

It seems like these shows have been around forever on the Eye Network (hi, Variety!) as TPiR will be starting its 49th season in the current incarnation. Which pretty much is forever in TV land. Wayne Brady's version of LMAD will "only" begin its 12th season, though. It's just a young whippersnapper, folks. The daytime seasons for both shows kick off November 16, with all sorts of lockdown dodges to please the lawyers.

CBS will also lean on the duo in prime time. Every other broadcaster is filling slots with game shows, so why shouldn't CBS join in? They've slated three nighttime specials for each of the shows, starting with a double bill on October 27.

The Price is Right and Let's Make a Deal churn out consistent numbers year after year, with audiences that are as loyal as any in television. They'll probably keep on keeping on for quite a while.
