Looks like the idea is to stick (sloppily) as close as possible to the original as possible. With one possibly glaring exception. As the linked Variety story intones: No host has yet been announced for the new series.
It's pretty hard for me to understand how Nick could not bring back Marc Summers, especially when he hosted the live show a while back. The adoring multitudes gushed over Marc online, and the adorers won't be happy if some other host barges in.
The trailer for the new version features Summers prominently, so I have to think that he'll turn up one way or the other. Meanwhile, everything else is coming back. The hamster wheel, the mouth, the wringer, the nose. It's a millennial dream come true, and the rejoicing has already begun on the Internet.
